Alice Apo Inc.

From January to December 2020
Alice Apo Inc has contributed to making a difference in the lives of individuals that without such help would have gone without such help.  We provided a full scholarship for 30 students in school both primary and secondary schools and also have a soccer development program that gives kids a place to go to after school, which helps in giving the kids hope that tomorrow could be brighter if they work hard. We also provide the kids with an avenue to showcase their acquired talent annually, by organizing a tournament through the  1,000 Cleats  5 v 5 soccer tournament that occurs annually at Alice International Schools Utan Village Jos, Plateau State Nigeria. All registered teams have slots for ten children.  As a sign of our dedication to youth, eighty percent of the participants of each team must be under the age of thirteen, while the two remaining players will be age thirteen to fifteen, according to each team a pair of adolescent mentors.

Every team will receive souvenirs commemorating their participation and achievement, while the final three teams will earn funds for school supplies.  These supplies will be distributed directly to the three winning teams at the end of the tournament.  Obviously, we would love to provide school supplies for every child interested in the tournament, but our limited resources prevent us from doing so. However, by continuing this program annually, we are able to provide hundreds of children with multiple opportunities for success each successive year. We also provide help to widows and widowers in a society where everyone looks out for his or her own. Such individuals require such help in order to succeed in society. In 2020 we did an event to support widows during a period of lockdowns that was extended to the point that people were not able to go out for work or sells in the market places thereby bring profound hardship on these families. We were able to supply 250 families with foodstuff and a token enough to give them.

About

1000 Cleats

1,000 Cleats is a generous program fostered by Alice Apo Inc. The goal of 1,000 Cleats is to help disadvantaged youth develop their full potential through sports and education.  Now, in its 4th year, 1,000 cleats provides a lifeline of scholarships, mentorships, coaching, sports equipment, and school supplies to youth living in the city of Jos (pop. 873,943), located in Plateau State of central Nigeria.

For these children, organized soccer offers not only a figurative refuge from the harsher realities of daily life, it provides a literal escape.  The teamwork, mentorships, commitment, and physical exercise that this program nourishes exceeds the boundaries of a game—it inspires these children to achieve their dreams beyond the goalpost. 1,000 cleats empowers youth simply by making them feel included, valued, and—through hard work, dedication, and focus—capable of success.  For nearly all of these underprivileged children, such lessons can help lead to a better life. The goal of this program is to secure one thousand cleats per year, while raising funds to pay for the tuition and school supplies for approximately one hundred students per year. The long-term goal is to create a network of inspired youth who feel qualified and encouraged to give back to those who are more disadvantaged than them, facilitating sustainable care in their communities.

About Us

Our Mission & Vision

Our goal is to create a channel of resources intended for the less privileged and making sure 99%  of funds received will reach them. Through programs, like distribution of 1000 cleats per year, scholarship funds to pay for the tuition and school supplies for approximately one hundred students per year, and a Christmas food distribution to the widows and widowers. The long-term goal is to create a network of inspired youth who feel qualified and encouraged to give back to those who are more disadvantaged than them, facilitating sustainable care in their communities.
